No stranger to ballparks and playing fields, Charlie, a Little League umpire for 27 years, still enjoys a good ball game with friends and supporters.
The lessons of youth sports tend to stay with those who participate in them; lessons such as sportsmanship, teamwork, fair play, and camaraderie. These types of values are greatly needed in our leaders today, maybe now more than ever before. Charlie grew to appreciate the importance of helping young people to learn these lessons, during his time of umpiring Little League for 27 years. This experience, he likes to joke, has been the best preparation for a job in the U.S. Congress. No stranger to ballparks and playing fields, Charlie still enjoys a good ball game with friends and supporters, watching the American Pass-Time and talking about the issues in our community.
