The 100 Black men of Orlando is a proud icon of the best of what community can be when focused on the plight of the individual. Charlie's long time respect for its leadership was openly expressed to many at their recent gala.
Charlie was proud to be in attendance at the 100 Black Men of Orlando Gala on June 28th. 100 Black Men of Orlando, Inc. has continued to be an active leader in the community since its establishment in 1991, participating annually in the Orange County Teach-In, supporting the Nap Ford Charter School, and providing scholarships to Jones High School graduates. The Scholarship program, and the work that 100 Black Men has put into the community is one of the pivotal reasons that Jones High School went from the brink of being shut down only a few years ago to being ranked in Newsweek's Top Public High Schools in America list for 2008. The gala featured as its Keynote Speaker Mr. Albert E. Dotson, Jr., Esq., Chairman of 100 Black Men of America, Inc., who spoke on the topic of getting serious with our individual responsibilities to prioritize education. Congratulations to the organization's president, Mr. Ronald Rogers, for a most impressive event in many ways!
